Anyone know the part number for more of these screws? I got a new front lip and the screws it came with are too long where they have to dig deeper into the car. I can use the OEM screws in the picture, but I don’t have enough.

My car is not a daily driver so thats probably some of the reason. :). I am also curious if doing this will wear out my transmission faster or cause issues? I assume no since the car has to shift anyways, even in auto mode.

I dont rev it out all the time, drive like an ape or downshift at high speeds much either. Just curious what others think. The ZF8 has been around a while so I assume its a robust transmission.

Hello,

What settings do you choose for track days? Are you driving a stick or automatic? Do you vary the settings by track?

For example, I’m going to Lime Rock Park this Saturday, and will likely put all the settings in my 2022 M240i xDrive with its 8 speed to “Sport,” but could tweak them.

Currently, the Chinese version of the G42 is equipped with a 333-horsepower B58B30M1 engine, which is significantly less powerful than the overseas version. Therefore, for the Chinese market, switching to a 48V engine would undoubtedly be a good thing, as it would greatly increase power. Does anyone know whether the Chinese market will switch to a 48V engine, or will it continue to use the 333-horsepower version until production is discontinued? If it will switch, when is it likely to happen?

Ambient Light color, drive mode on startup, seatbelt warning disable, etc ( I also assume anti-dazzle but I'm to tired to go through all the expert settings at the moment). All of it haha. Also, it seems to have borked the Personal eSim functionality and won't provide internet access unless you sign out of your personal profile, sign into the guest profile and then back into your personal profile. I'm not sure if this works, because in the course of trying to fix it, I deactivated the personal esim from the app and it canceled my t-mobile line and I had to set the esim back up again from scratch. But that is what the BMW Genius told me to do if it happens again.

Hi guys,

I got a perfect bullseye stonechip on my front parkingsensor and I think that causes it do malfunction with the dirty sensor warning. Car is PPF'd but the (stupid) shop cut out the sensors when I know it would've worked. What are the chances..

The prices for these things is like 400euros OEM and letting the dealer fix it will probably cost atleast 1.5k so I had two ideas but not sure if it would work;

1. Smooth out the surface then repaint? (sand/paint) Do these g series BMW parkingsensors work like that? Main reason for this topic
2. Try to source second hand and spend 4 years to reinstall bumper

Any advice is appreciated!

Update: Not sure if it is different or non-oem but: https://www.ebay.com/itm/156565940087 sounds very cheap?
Also is same partnumber as https://www.realoem.com/bmw/select-u...&q=66209826785

G42 Headlight Replacement - Any DIY Tips?

This morning, I noticed that the plastic surround of my driver side headlight is detached within the housing. My best guess is that this occurred last week when I hit a pothole driving home at night (our roads are terrible). The impact must have knocked loose the lens hood that surrounds the headlight beam. Considering that my car is out of warranty, I'm considering replacing the headlight myself.

Does anyone have experience doing this on their G42? Before I jump into the repair, I'm looking for feedback on the following:

Is it possible to open the headlight housing to reattach the lens hood? It looks like the lens hood has retaining clips where it could snap into place. That would be an easy fix assuming that the internal components are accessible.

If a new headlight housing is installed, is there any coding required? These are adaptive cornering headlights, so I imagine, that they'd need to communicate back to the car. If the original control/DRL modules are reinstalled onto the new housing, would that negate the need to reprogram the headlights.

Does the entire front bumper need to be removed to replace the headlight housings? My car has the park assist with autonomous parking, so if there's a way to avoid disconnecting the front parking sensors, I'd love to do that... I've been told that if those sensors are disconnected from the wiring harness, the entire park assist will need to be re-programmed as well.

I am the type of person that loves to work on cars. Therefore, I'm excited on the prospect of doing this work by myself as long as no reprogramming is necessary. Furthermore, I'd also prefer to not spend a fortune at an auto shop if this repair can be done in my garage.

I have searched and cant seem to be able to get too much information on this alert.

I received a "Drive Carefully Alert Brake System" alert yesterday. I used Bimmerlink to clear it but then it came on again today. I tried Bimmerlink but it would not clear.

I tried to put the vehicle in diagnostic mode but when i push the start button, the vehicle turns on - it should go into ignition with 1 push. The vehicle does start without my foot on the brake pedal.

I can not engage the cruise control with this alert as well.

I know I most likely need to change my brakes but that may not happen for another 6-8 weeks.

Can anyone advise what could be to possibly clear this alert other than changing the pads/sensor? Could I pull the sensor for the time being??

Any advice would be appreciated.
