E30 values seem to be going up at a much faster rate than they were even as recently as 6 to 7 years ago. I bought many decent, fully running cars for $1000. Now it seems $1000 gets you a rusty shell with a blown motor. So yes, I'd say they are going up in value as the years go by, especially if you have a clean and/or rare model.

I wouldn't let that be your motivator though. Buy the car because you want a nice E30, and be pleasantly surprised if it increases in value. It's much harder to convince someone to pay 12K for any E30 that isn't an M3, but from what I've seen the M Tech cabrios do sell for that, or more. It just takes longer to find a willing buyer.

If you keep the car in the condition its in now and don't rack up mileage in the car, I don't think you'd experience any depreciation. You'd likely sell the car for what you paid for it, or turn a small profit. I think the days of E30s depreciating are officially over.

hey Kyle, appreciate the help. Just a general question, might be a bit hard to answer. I love the look of the 325 cab, saw one at bimmerfest and almost had to make an offer on the spot. The real reason for me buying the car is to also have somewhat of a investment (atleast slow depreciation). Have you been able to hold the value of your e30s?
