Dahler exhaust valve controller installed (G87 M2)

As the title says installed the valve controller two nights ago. IMO this is a must have mod. Personally, I don't like the fake engine sound track that comes with having M sound enabled but I do like the louder exhaust note. The Dahler controller allows you to disable the M sound and have the valves open all the time. I'm noticing an increase in throttle response at low RPMs too but maybe I'm just imagining this.:confused2 Overall impressed and probably the easiest install I've ever done on any car.

Congrats:thumbsup:

Opening the valve will not provide any noticeable power improvement

Perceived power improvement maybe :D

Sounds can do that.

Would love to learn more about this . I was just wondering how to keep the cable open all the time . On my m40 I replaced the rear mufflers and just left the entire valve assembly there but not attached to anything lol.

In my m340 before I installed the Mpe, I just unplugged the wire and zip tied it.

Now I’m wondering how I make this m2 keep the valve open all the time. Would love it to be open on start up too and without having to go into a sport mode etc.

Thanks

Just install the dahler valve controller. Plug and play. And leave it in the open position via the remote.

+1

If you get a valve controller, you can force the valves open at 100%

And if, for whatever reason, you need to close the valves, you can do so with a click of a button.

Thanks guys. Just found an install video .. certainly not difficult and nice to be able to close them at will. I assume if opened they will stay open even if car is turned off the back on? Is this unit expensive ? I just spent a ton on brake pads lol and need to take it easy otherwise simple fuse pull and call it a day lol

HeatJoey 09-22-2024 12:28 PM

Just found it , $500 lol I think ill just pull the fuse for free and take 80% open …

SST/MAD/Dahler all are installed the same exact way, its a very easy and straight forward process

Thx I’ll be ordering something soon. Based on what I see and read there is no harm correct? Ie dealer won’t care if they see this or anything silly like warranty issues with anything ?

I really don't hear the difference from the valves being 70-80% open to fully open. I wish I could hear a car in person. From the videos I can't discern the difference from 70%-100%.

@[Info@mad-us.com](contact:577984) Just went and looked at your link and you're right, that is a much better option of what's out there.

Since we are so close to Black Friday, will your online store have this on sale in the next couple of weeks?

Thanks!

I like the SST solution. They give you 4 options, on off and a couple percentages open which I think you can set. Plus it remembers whatever you last had it set too.

I also have a OG CG precision first gen that did act up on me years ago, but its working flawlessly every since then, 3yrs later.
