I cut the top piece which is visible with the hood open as a whole piece and stuck it with silicone once i closed and sealed everything back.
It is very important to clean/scrape off all the perma seal prior to sealing it back as it will not fit snugly otherwise.

Have you had any issues with it fogging up?
I really want to do my headlights more and more every day I see how ugly they look stock lol. And honestly, do you think theres a way without cutting off that plastic piece? Just thinking in case of selling the car. Don't want it noticeably different.
