Well that technically is only true if you over torque the cap or somehow cross thread it, but that would be user error. Both are easily remedied by buying a torque wrench (you should already have this and be using it with the stock cap) and hand threading the cap to start (again this should already be common practice). Otherwise the thread on this particular cap is the exact same German Sägezahn thread as the OFH, so no damage should occur if used properly.


But at the end of the day it is your choice if you want a metal cap or not, but for the people that like the aesthetics of a metal cap and like the convenience of having the built in hex nut this is the best option currently available due to the price and proper bypass base plate support.
