Well, looks like that solved it. Running the 93 tune on juiced up 91 just didn't work. But so far the car is completely happy on the E30 tune.
It's actually faster than before and hasn't broken up once. I'm going to take a look at the plugs when they get pulled out on Wednesday to see if the octane booster had fouled them at all.
Either way, I expect with the oil change and new plugs the car should be very happy.
