You're welcome. I felt like they may have been shooting for a 911 GT2 RS look with the front (and an older design I can't put my finger on). Fender flares also felt a little more boxy vs sculpted. Not a bad thing, but consistent with the overall design feel.

This may sound crazy, but the M3/M4 style grill might have actually worked well on the G87 M2. The M2 has always had a shorter, less raked look. A taller M3/M4 type grill could have worked if done right. Impossible to know without actually seeing it.

That said, if the G87 M2 had something resembling an M8 front end, I'd be asking my dealer to take a deposit. Not that the M8 is the pinnacle of design, or is a great fit for the G87 design, but at this point I'm not looking for great designs from BMW, just design that don't give me reasons to not like them. Bar has dropped I guess. Sigh.

For the record, I'm a big fan of the M2. Part of the reason I was so excited when they told us we could see it. I still want to fall in love, but first impressions can be tough to break.
Funny, I always felt the overall M8 design would make a great template for the M2. Just shrink it down to M2 size and take my money BMW, even though it does resemble the Ford Mustang. Regardless, I was really on the fence with the G42 design language until I saw one in person. I own one now and will be trading it in for the G87 but the look of the G42 is much more attractive and sporty in person than the F22 so hoping for the same in regards to the G87 over the F87
