They supply a little plastic pry tool and I just used it and another plastic tool that I had to pry the old one out from the back. How snug is the existing piece? I was wondering if it might pull up/out if you attached one of those Velcro Command strips or something else super sticky and swiftly pulled straight up? The same way that the start/stop button is removed when people swap them out.
I’ve used this method to remove wheel centre caps. Works well.
