Hey guys. I wanted to do a write up to share this experience with you guys. Last year I took my G42 M240i to Racemotive at Pocono Raceway. This year I brought the G87 M2 and I had a complete blast.
For those of you who aren't familiar, this is a roll race event that occurs on the NASCAR track at Pocono Raceway. It's a 1300 ft race. To have a good start, you must hit the first set of traps below 65.99mph, otherwise the run doesn't count. Your speed is measured at the second set of traps and that's your run!
For context, last year I trapped a best of 118.xx from a verified start in the G42 M240i. The car had 900 miles on it and only had an Eventuri intake.
Well I was addicted and knew I had to go back. I managed to get my M2 registered and we went with more mods this time.
For performance, my car has Eventuri Intakes, Active Autowerke GESI downpipes, Equal Lenth Midpipe, valved rear section, and it has a Racechip running map 7. I also have the OEM 827m wheels which are lighter than the 930ms.
My best run of the day was 140.74! That's way faster than I had anticipated. I saw a guy at this same event ran 137 in a G82 with the Dahler unit, so I was really only expecting to run 135ish. Really a great day.
I did 10 runs in total, unfortunately most weren't against people in my class. I raced a Tesla Plaid and got smoked. Also raced a 920whp trackhawk on ethanol and got smoked. But it was all a ton of fun.
I made a YouTube video if you guys want to see what the experience was like:
Here are some pictures as well. I can't wait to go back next year. The goal will be to break 170 next year. Shouldn't be too hard, these S58s are very impressive.
Thanks for checking out this post!
