Lots of short journeys can/do prevent/hamper proper DPF regeneration which needs longer journeys with exhaust system coming up to higher temperatures and your suggested long drive (certainly more than 30 mins) running car at higher revs can certainly help your DPF. An unhappy/clogged DPF usually results in higher exhaust gas pressure which throws a different (480/481) error codes so is unlikely to be the cause of this error code.

As long as your car doesn’t have any other symptoms then driving the car should probably be o.k but obviously it is your judgement call. The warning light will not go out until codes have been reset (after problem fixed).
Thanks a lot for your reply , they are quoting around £360 to renew the sensor and regenerate . I got it checked from some other Garage as Halfords who originally provided the error codes they wouldnt fix it .

I am just worried that once I get this sensor changed hopefully it shouldnt start alarming for something else again .
