I disagree, its a relatively pricey new car with a defect and he has every right to complain. I agree with the fact that he should allow them to fix it and then do a very detailed inspection to ensure that everything is matching and if it doesn't make them fix it until it does. But I also agree with the fact that it should have been seen before taking ownership of the car.
There is nothing wrong with making companies correct mistakes / damages. If everyone had the mindset of "it's just a (insert item here), chill out" then companies would produce shit because no one would care to hold them accountable.
