It is actually quite a small change “under the curve”. The way the extra power (on paper) is achieved between the 453bhp (338kW) M2 engine and 473bhp (353kW) M3/4 engine is by extending the same 550Nm torque plateau from 5,870 to 6,130RPM.
Power is 2 x Pi x RPS x torque
So 2 x 3.14159 x 5,870/60 x 550 = 338,087W (338kW)
And 2 x 3.14159 x 6,130/60 x 550 = 353,062W (353kW)
So you won’t notice any difference until you reach 5,870RPM.
