My PPF guy put Matte PPF on my screen without asking, was a nice surprise when I picked up my car. He had a spare piece and said he "wanted to try it," it has been great! Tipped him $50 in the tip I gave and saved some money. If you are getting PPF, and knowing you I suspect you are, ask your PPF installer. Maybe this isn't as "fancy" as the $150+ screen protector, but it's been great. No bubbles, nothing stuck under it, touch works great. Fewer fingerprints than the stock BMW screen and less reflective (my wife has an X5 with the same screen). Non-Matte PPF would be a problem with reflections for sure as there is no "visor" over this screen so a lot of direct sun gets on it.

Get the canDO+ unit. I NEVER need to interact with my screen. Turn car on and it sets my basic settings (Sport, Sport, Sport, Gear Assist OFF, DSC ON...etc.), turns on my M-mode screen to Sport, Activates CarPlay and selects Waze, and sets my AC controls to 68 degrees both sides, full fan, sync. If I need to change my M-Mode to Road I just touch the settings button. Seat heater on or off I just touch (not press) the 4 iDrive buttons around the controller. I want max AC? I just touch the back button. I want max heat and my seat heater on? I press and hold the back button for 2 seconds. I want to reset all my HVAC controls to my "baseline"? Just touch the option button.
I NEVER need to interact with any buttons on the screen. All my favorite Settings are assigned to iDrive buttons, which are easily in reach. Just start the car and go. If I need to adjust something it's all macros assigned to the iDrive buttons...and the iDrive buttons retain their stock functionality as well. The canDO+ unit is amazing.
