Question about Piggy Back's with 6MT (TQ limitations)
I'm getting close to my break-in service and planning on tuning the car, in some form, soon after.
I was initially planning on just flashing the CS tune, until I learned that the 6MT has an extra table in the code (I'm sure I'm saying that incorrectly), preventing the TQ figures from increasing beyond the factory 406ft-lbs. Which is a shame because the CS power figures sound like just enough for this car.
Then I started looking into JB4/RaceChip and spoke to a couple members here who have had nothing but great things to say about both. I decided on going this route until recently reading that even piggy backs don't override that TQ limiter on the 6MT. Is this true?
If so, I suppose a full femto unlock and custom flash is my best bet. I'm not opposed to going this route, especially because it also comes with other optional benefits like keeping the valves 100% open when in sport mode and such. And historically, I have preferred a full custom calibration over "tricking" the ECU.
However, before I make any further decisions, I wanted to get some clarification on the piggy back situation, specifically for 6MT, as I have come around to the idea of sticking with a plug-n-play solution. Especially since it doesn't involve shipping my DME to another country.
I appreciate any help/clarification.
