Although on a day like today it seems crazy, I phoned my local dealer to ask about the BMW winter tyre program that's been reported on in
the media. They are doing three packages, steel 16x7 wheels with either runflat or non-runflat tyres, or 17x8 alloys with runflats, with prices from £650. The interesting part for me (having no garage or garden storage) is that the price includes two wheel changes a year and they will store your summer alloys/tyres. Apparently they are getting stock brought over from the continent to ensure supply.
Obviously nobody knows what the weather is going to do, but I think this makes a lot of sense. It's not the cheapest option, but I didn't expect owning this car to be cheap. Having someone else store the damn things is essential for me. What do other people think?
