YA like really thin oil, how about 0w-12?
BMW has a new spec out, its ll-22fe, a 0W-12 oil. Supposedly for use in the Gen 3 B58 engine, this is the latest gen of the B58 engine called B58TU2 or B58N. For 2023 it appears only in the 740i or the X7 40I model. One source i found claims it was designed for, and uses, the 0W-12 oil. I have not confirmed that with a second source, (thus "supposedly) but the oil is out there as a BMW labeled product.
Perhaps that's part of why they can claim an impressive 25 mpg city/31 MPG highway for this 4700 lb car with a 375 hp inline 6?
