I was thinking the same, but then it dawned on me that may not make much sense. If they just bump it 20hp but the torque stays at 406 lb-ft it won't feel that much faster as that power will all be on the top end. The M3/4c for instance are boosted to 479 lb-ft of torque and 503hp. That added 73 lb-ft of torque makes a massive difference.

So they could just bump it 20hp, offer MT and call it a day. Or they can also do something like give it to 481hp with 479 lb-ft of torque. In that case it definitely won't get a MT. Stay tuned.
Interesting… Is it confirmed that base M2 will have 406 lb ft torque? And is that the torque limit bmw claims for the manual?
