The CTS-V Sport is under 4,000lbs and is very close to the size of the 5-Series chassis and has no Carbon Fiber in it. It's stopping distance in only 98ft which is better than even a 3,700lbs Audi R8. It's absolutely possible with the next M5 to be under 4,000lbs. The next generation CTS-V will out soon and will be under 4,000lbs with the new Vette Z06 Supercharged Engine, which also forces BMW's hand to compete against it with the next M5.
