Half-joking, I think it’s not as important as the fact you might have been on a road with more/sharper right turns…

Turns can affect tire temperature but the road was a country road with as best I can tell a balance of right and left hand turns. And I was not pushing the car hard due to as I mentioned concerns for deer.
Will drive the car some more and keep an eye on tire pressure -- to ensure the repaired tire is holding air -- and see if that left tire still manifests elevated temperature.
