Didn't even notice that until you brought it up.
The vertical grills look much MUCH better. It's a real shame BMW didn't go back to their roots & start things off this way to begin with. 
Some of the other bit are nice but I'll kindly pass on them. The snow plow style front splitter & the deep side skirts are going to act like a cheese grater for lowered cars on the streets here in California.
