What you see here are just wheel pins that you screw in before removing all the lug bolts. They allow you to easily remove a wheel and put it back on. People that don't use them have a hard time lining up the lug bolts and it's also very easy for the wheel to slip off and land onto the dust shield, rotors and even calipers damaging the inside of the wheel barrel and chipping paint on your calipers.
