This is the truth. I instruct at Summit Point with NCCBMWCCA and they have 6 proper skidpads there. But I also instruct at VIR and they do not have any, nor are there any in that area so people who live around there have to drive 4 hours to their nearest skidpad.
We've tried to petition VIR to build one but they're not interested.
I think skidpad training is
the single most important part of high performance driving. The main reason people spin or go off at the track, besides vision, is lack of training/experience with understeer and oversteer.
