When I removed the drain plug hot oil shot straight across at a 30-45 degree angle. The oil shot so far over it went across the door opening and hit the panel on the other side. It created a mess on the top of the panel. The oil drained down hill on the top side of the plastic panels and ended up dripping on the floor from the middle area of the car.

The next time I *will* have some sort of deflector plate to keep the oil from making a mess.

I poured the old oil back into quart containers and measured 6-1/2 quarts removed. I could've spilled up to 1/2 quart so 7 quarts total capacity sounds about right.

This is the biggest mess I've ever had changing oil in a car.
 Actually you will find a few of us mentioned the oil "canon" that shoots when you open it. :iono:
