Drove through a large "puddle"

Alright, so I know it's not a good idea to go through standing water...but with the torrential downpour yesterday, was cruising along and took a turn, as I rounded the corner, I didn't have an opportunity to slowdown and ended up going through a cringe-worthy amount of water along my right side - maybe 6-8 inches of standing water. Lot of spray, etc. resulted. Knowing this is a low clearance car and they've jammed a lot of components into the bottom portions of it, do I have any cause for concern wrt potential component, transmission or engine damage? Have driven the car a bunch since then and it felt a little rough at times but I think that may just be psychosomatic. So the real questions:

1) If something got messed up, I'm assuming the car would warn me?
2) Do I need to continue to monitor for resulting issues or, if something was going to get messed up, would it already have gotten messed up
3) Am I vastly overthinking this
