As I have suspected all along BMW is going produce as many base G87s as humanly possible therefore these will never be collectible, at least not in many of our lifetimes. Any special model such as a CS or CSL and the final model year of production will be of value 20-30+ years from production.


Edit, Even with the impending demise of ICE, exponentially high production numbers dramatically hurt the G87 from ever being a highly desirable collectible. Just food for thought for those that might have thought the G87 was a future classic.
