Attached are the full technical instructions from BMW in PDF format to replace springs, struts and shocks on the G87 (USA Model: 13DM). Instructions provide a full step-by-step on the process as well as fastener types, sizes, renewal requirements and torque specs.
Let the modding begin! These instructions are a must for anyone that's a DIY'r and plans to lower their car with springs, HAS kit or coilovers. You can also provide these instructions to an independent shop that would do the install for you. Also, useful to anyone in the future that needs to replace worn out suspension components with OEM or aftermarket parts.
Note: You can substitute other tools instead of the ones BMW outlines in the instructions. For example, you can use a different type of spring compressor. Most Autoparts stores have a tool loan program for things like spring compressors, torque wrenches, etc.
I plan on getting the HAS kit and am hoping by the time I get in line for a G87 they will offer it as a port installed option. If not, I will do the install myself using these instructions just as I've done on my other bimmers.
