My contractor was in at 1am to clear my laneway. The windchill is a killer this morning. Brrrrr....

Now Google pops up an ice warning. The current temp is 31F, so I suspect everything will be fine once our beloved sun comes up to warm things up a bit.

Storm broke this morning, managed a nice walk in the park after breakfast.

We're looking at 5-7 inches of snow here starting around noon Saturday, changing over to freezing rain after midnight and possibly taking down trees and power lines with over 0.25 inches of ice. Then, rain on Sunday before the next arctic blast arrives and freezes everything solid into early next week.

The long-range models are hinting at a possible bomb cyclone forming off the coast on Thursday, making a snowy/windy mess for the northeast into the Canadian Maritimes.

Anyone else want to clobber the groundhog right now?????

^^ No, I’m happy with 6 more weeks of SoCal winter. At the same time I feel for your plight.

In the meantime our rains have put out the wildfires, but now there’s mudslides in the burn areas to contend with. Peaks and valleys…

Getting ready for round two. We'll need to modify our schedule again.

Walked 8.5 miles on the beach this morning, yet the most welcome sighting were the crocus in our yard

Branle-bas de combat and all hands on deck.

I was on the phone yesterday and managed to coral most of tomorrow's appointments especially those requiring blood work or x-rays. My new colleague will handle the intakes while I hit the road. Everyone is in a good mood despite the last-minute change of schedule knowing that they won't have to deal with the white caca. We should be finished by 2pm.

Our wintery weather (days of 20s and clear, then a couple of days of very light snow) appear to be ending. It's 46F this morning and the weather guessers even ventured a possible 60 degrees in our near future.

We have a week of cold to get through, but hopefully this is the last polar vortex for the year.

I was jarred awake this morning by an EAS alert on my phone for a Severe Thunderstorm Warning down yonder at our SC tree farm. The front has now passed, and the temperature is a comfortable 60 F.

Meanwhile, it is just below freezing here in the freezer. Last night's snow was about 3 inches, and then a heavy coating of ice on top of it to make things crunchy. My DW had to go outside and shovel a piece of the lawn for her OCD psycho dog, who in his old age does not have solid footing on ice or hardwood floors. We're under a Wind Advisory for 50 MPH gusts through Monday evening.....
