Tire pressure recommendations different between iDrive8 and door

The iDrive 8 tire pressure rec says the front should be 44psi and rear 42psi.

The door says front 38psi and rear 42psi.

Which one am I supposed to believe? It's a square setup.

pretty sure the idrive recommendations will change and are based on other variables like air temp

It might take into account type of tire too. Runflat vs performance/summer.

it doesn't matter. Run different numbers for a week at a time and see what you like

Are you tire settings manually set in idrive?
If so, make sure you have "<100mph" set.

+1 for the <100mph setting in the tire settings (where you access the tire pressure monitor).

I learned this last year when it was calling up ludicrously high values. That >100mph setting is if you're regularly cruising over 100mph, like on the Autobahn, or a normal USA interstate.

Or a regular street in Maryland.
