2024 ZB 6MT - Brand New - Nice Options
Brand new, purchased 8/28. Car has 5-year windshield warranty I can transfer with car. The BMW store still owes me tint of my liking (I will be doing 15% all around and windshield strip), but can have windows tinted as desired at no charge. Details of build in pics below, only asking what I paid minus taxes. Less than 200 miles on it, still on first tank of gas. Have been driving moderately during break-in period. Not boring, but not driving it too hard either. Was in a position I needed to trade a vehicle, thought maybe an M2 would be right. After about 10 days of ownership, I just don't think it's the right car and $68K is a lot of money to not really be happy with purchase. I will keep driving it around town and schedule window tinting (75mi from dealership) to see if my opinion changes, so mileage will go up. No stupid offers will be accepted, it's essentially brand new, no lien and my insurance is prepaid for a year, so I can ride it out for a while without any additional costs incurred. |

Bump - lowered price $500 to accommodate half month of driving/use from new price. Little over 200 miles on it now, still first tank of gas. Car will be getting about 200mi put on it through Friday to travel to get window tint installed.

Update: Windows are now tinted 15% all around and and has windshield strip. Looks pretty good. Mileage is still under 500mi and only on second tank of gas. Car will be sitting now for about a week without being driven as I travel. I'll try to get some new photos with window tint posted next weekend.

Price lowered again. 490mi on the clock, still haven't even reached break in service. I have driven gently, kept below 6k rpms so far during break the period.

What is it about the G87 that makes you feel it's not the right vehicle for you?
Just curious. I have same build minus the carbon roof...13,000 miles since Feb. Love to drive that machine. Last edited by Resoelg; 09-23-2024 at 03:51 PM.. |

Weird, my price on listing somehow disappeared. It was $66,750. Just lowered it to $65,000. On a road trip with it at the moment, it will come home with about 1,400 mi on odometer and will be ready for it's break-in service upon return.
This is the bottom folks. Losing my ass now in one month. |

Maybe highest performance car I've owned (GT350 up there too)? Speaking of which, once you've owned a GT350, many cars fall short of that. Finally got the G87 on some twisty mountain roads, it hauls ass and handles unreal. I cannot believe how good it is compared to the OG M2 (owned a 2016). Unfortunately, those roads are 4 hours from my home (live in flat farm land in South Dakota) and I get to do it about once a year, hard to keep a car for that. I actually bought another M235i in May because I felt it was 90% of an OG M2 for half the price after owning both and thought I might enjoy one again. I was actually trying to sell the M235i on this forum for similar reasons and was about to list it on Cars and Bids until I became aware of an engine issue, so just got out of it cause I couldn't in good mind sell that car to someone. To me G87 is like driving a computer, too easy, not rowdy enough, I don't like how large it is and I was hoping to warm up to looks, but that isn't happening either. I actually liked driving my M235i better for its size. G87 seems to me a do everything, daily driver, sport car, etc., that's not what I am looking for. I have a daily, it's a nicely modified 335i AWD sedan, it does that job for me. Ironically, I would rather have your moonroof than CF roof, but it was the only option and I needed to offload the M235i. My lesson after all this, I'm only going to be happy with a real toy car, even if it's older and slower. I get WAY more joy driving my E46 M3 Comp or my Procharged 2002 Mustang GT, and combined I paid about a third of the money. Even though both are slower, they are just riots. As you can read, I didn't need a car, was trying to downsize to the two I really enjoy and my situation had me take a chance on a car I was doubting to begin with. My fears it wasn't the right car were confirmed within weeks. I was probably the least excited new owner at a BMW dealership leaving with their new M2. If I lived in warm climate and needed a single do everything car, G87 would be wonderful. Last edited by BimmerfanSD; 09-29-2024 at 10:15 AM.. |

As a follow up to my previous post, you have to realize living in Eastern South Dakota really limits your options, I was down to this M2, a Golf Type R, numerous WRXs or an Integra Type S for new cars with a manual. After my M235i issue, I just wanted something new with a warranty, figured I'd sell whatever in time if I didn't like it.
