1) Stop the fake interior exhaust sound - This was very annoying, especially with a manual. I disabled ASD using an OBDLink device and the BimmerCode app.

OBDLink CX- https://www.obdlink.com/products/obdlink-cx/

BimmerCode app- https://bimmercode.app/

2) Take control of the exhaust valves – My Mustang has a “track mode” exhaust setting that opens the valves and a quiet mode to fully close the valve. The M2 controls the exhaust valves automatically based on drive modes. However, it never fully opens the valves. I went with the DÄHLer valve controller because it didn't need a separate power supply. It has two modes, fully open or stock. It also allows specifying the default mode to control the loudness of cold starts. I can now clearly hear the difference between Efficient, Sport and Sport Plus when the valves are open.

3) Resonator delete – The final step was to install a Valvetronic Equal length midpipe. The M2 now sounds like I expected it to sound from the factory! Sport Plus with the valves open sounds as raw as my Mustang. The M2 is almost as quiet as stock in Efficient mode with the valve controller is in stock mode.

Completely agree. However, I went with a resonated Single Mid and couldn’t be happier.

Appreciate the heads up on a good local exhaust shop too!

Coming from an 18 Mustang with long tubes and full exhaust I completely understand. Went with the AA EL mid on my g87 to help wake her up some.

Do you get crackles and pops on trailing thottle? I don’t care for that on a DD.

Why isn't there a setting that can be changed via bimmercode or something to allow for the valves to open more?

Your center console button disables all that.

Not what I did, but a fantastic senior (not that AGE matters) swiped my car and ran, destroyed my skirt and curb rashed my 3 piece LMs. Thanks to the many cameras in the neighborhood I found the video and the person.

MAD. It looks nice and solid. The install looks simple. I don't have a lift so it is up on ramps for me.

Going in for BM3 Flex Fuel kit tomorrow, but latest add was license plate that came in.

Also to add- anyone know if negative longer effects ethanol on OEM fuel system or lines? Currently stage 2 OTS multimap planning to run no more than e30/40 to stay on the safe side but maximize power.
