HKSTUDIE Monotube Colovers with Camber Plates & EDC Canceller for G8X

HKS HKSTUDIE SUSPENSION with CANCELLER for G80/G82

For 2WD/4WD models.

HKSTUDIE is a collaboration product between HKS and Studie AG.

Balancing high speed stability and comfort for city driving

The G8X generation M has electrically adjustable dampers as stock, and while they provide the stability typical characteristics of the M series at high speeds, they still are a bit stiff in daily driving, even in “COMFORT” mode. The HKSTUDIE SUSPENSION was developed based on the concept of “Balancing high speed stability and comfort for city driving”.

High rigidity inverted dampers are used

The mono-tube dampers are equipped, which enables the use of a large-diameter piston and provides high-quality and stable damping force. In addition, high rigidity inverted dampers are used for the front suspension, as the strut type suspension system is subject to heavy bending loads during acceleration, deceleration and cornering. This leads to excellent handling.

Fully-threaded shock body

Fully-threaded shock body is adopted for both front and rear, allowing adjustment to the desired ride height without affecting ride comfort by changing the amount of damper retraction stroke or spring pre-load. Wheel gap between the front tire and fender is noticeably big with the stock ride height, so we set the front end slightly lower relative to the rear to obtain a more stylish appearance and improve high-speed driving stability.

The 30-level damping force adjustment

The 30-level damping force adjustment allows the driver to set the preferred damping force to suit various driving conditions, from city driving to the race track. You will experience the evolved “The Ultimate Driving Machine” by having balanced performance of smooth ride on the street and a steady driving feel at high speed, perfect for the M series.

Features the camber-adjustable top hat

The front unit features the camber-adjustable spherical-bearing top hats for sharp handling. CNC machined aluminum top hats are adopted for the rear unit.

Suspension Error Canceller

“Suspension Error Canceller” is included in the kit to delete the error light upon removal of the electrically adjustable damper.

3-year/60,000 km product warranty

Spring Rate F=7kg R=14kg

Out of curiosity, how would these compare to Ohlins R&Ts w/vorschlag plates? I’m hoping to do some coilovers in the next year and was curious, since prices are similar between them. My car is a daily driver with little track time (1-2 events per year), but I like to maximize suspension performance.

I'd love to know also. How does this compare to all the staples, kw v3, ohlins etc etc.

These are street coilovers aiming more at ride quality. Ohlins R&T is a road and track or dual-purpose product. That said these will perfectly fine if you are only doing 1-2 events a year. Feel free to PM with any other questions.

Closer to the V3 but with top mounts for camber adjustability. Feel free to PM with any other questions.
