Okay, I'm going to chime in.
If you have the M Driver's Package or not is relavent. With the Driver's Package; Y rated tires would be required for a top speed of 180ish. While without a Z or W rating would be okay.

Don't really have a comparison point, but noticed that the Pirellis lose a ton of grip when the tires are a bit colder (70-80 F tire temps). This is probably true for all tires but I was just a bit surprised by how much grip I lost -- ABS started kicking in when I punched it to 50% throttle in 2nd gear

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireS...erformance=ALL Hmm, the paste didn't include OEM filter, hit that box to see the Star tires. Looks like Yokohamas are not technically Star, but they are Y rated also. Last edited by Bimmer Frank; 01-24-2025 at 09:00 PM.. Reason: Additional information |

Thanks for clarifying. I learned something interesting in the meantime also, there is a Y and also a (Y) rating. The Y is rated for 186mph, while the (Y) is 186mph+. So for example the rating will say (100Y) or 99Y. All of the star appear to be of the (Y) variety. |

Sad that people think they know better than the manufacture because they saw something on you tube. |
