Interior with Portimao Blue Metallic?

Hello, I spoke with the dealer about ordering an M240i xDrive ahead of time before I return from Korea. He recommended I order it about three months before I return, because they normally take about four.

I’m strongly leaning toward Portimao Blue Metallic. The two upholstery colors I am trying to decide between our Oyster and Black Vernasca Leather with the blue stitching.

Oyster: I like it because It’s not the normal, safe black and it looks like it will have a lot more Pop. But I run the risk that (in person) it clashes with the blue.

Black with blue stitching: Seems to be a safer route, and potentially the blue stitching could tie it all together nicely with the blue paint. But it could be in that (in person) the stitching is very subtle, and for the most part I just have nice but safe, and slightly boring black seats.

If you have seen in person either or both upholstery choices in combination with Portimao Blue Metallic, please give me your impressions. Thanks!

Black. I hate how the contrasting leather looks on the doors, the armrest, etc. There's way too much other black in the interior already to choose anything else

I like cognac with Portimao Blue. I think the good thing about Portimao is any interior color will work with it (except maybe red).

I think Cognac is the best color to combine with Portimao, but you cannot get it in Vernasca leather (in Canada), which means no adjustable driver's side bolster. The lack of side bolster was a deal breaker for me.

I have Portimao Blue with the black Vernasca with blue stitching. Although the blue does help tie the interior to the exterior, I find it rather subtle.

I can't speak on the Oyster, but I know light colored seats are susceptible to dye transfer from jeans and clothes, so there is a lot more upkeep if you want it to stay white.

While I like the lighter interior, I do not like that it is not the entire door panels that are matching. Looks a bit strange to see the black with the light Oyster. Personally, I do not like an all black interior. I got the cognac with TNM and I love it. Many compliments on the combination exterior/interior colors.

Best of luck making a decision.

Great choice on the Portimao Blue! The darker paint colors really help the aggressive design decisions blend in better on these guys. They get lost in black and the white/grey is too contrast-y imo

I’d go with Oyster. I agree that cognac fits better with the blue, but I love the driftwood feel that Oyster gives—especially against the blue (!)

I have the black interior, which is fun in a Bruce Wayne sense and matches the black wheels, but I really wish it was Oyster.

Have fun!

I chose this. Matches the red stripe on the wheel and the brakes.

That’s an interesting choice, especially with red calipers. Kind of combines with the red and the blue of the M colors together. Which wheels do you have?

I ordered the ZTK Package, so the 893M wheels with the larger red calipers.

I don’t see any red stripes on them, even when I do a Google image search.

The steering wheel. Not the wheels.
