Did my first long haul trips to ski the past 2 days. 150 miles each way. On the way up (elevation increase) 27.6mpg and on the way back 30.6mpg

The efficiency of these inline turbo 6 engines is kind of crazy. My 2018 S5 with the twin scroll turbo v6 would struggle to hit 23mpg on the same drive.

Got sideswiped by an old woman who turned into my car. It's only cosmetic but now I'm wondering how good metallic black paint can be repaired. The passenger side door and quarter panels need to be replaced I'm assuming.

Sorry to hear it bud.

Repair process gonna depend on how much physical damage is there. They might not need to replace those panels per se.

The biggest thing you need to do is find the nicest body shop available, assuming her insurance is paying. Good painter can fix, mid or bad painter will.be a disaster

100% go to a BMW certified shop if their insurance is paying for it. They'll know how to work on binmers the best. Be weary of any shop willing to do it without being officially certified and carrying a warranty on their work

I think it'll come out fine, hopefully the paint doesnt look too new compared to the rest of the ride

Yeah, I'm going to take it to the BMW dealership with a collision center. It's the best option I can think of. I was 1 week away from lowering the car too which is a bummer. I'm just glad they didn't hit the front bumper or rear end me since that's where the aftermarket stuff is.

Patience removing the old one and use a 3M eraser wheel to remove the old adhesive. You need a heat gun if you don't have one. I've used both fishing line and bondo scrapers to help lift off the old spoiler and if you're not experienced or very careful, it's easier to damage the paint with fishing line than a thin bondo scraper. After you get the old one off and get all the adhesive off, you need to clean it really well. A light isopropyl wipe afterwards is good too.

I've heard using the eraser wheel can screw up the paint/clear coat quite easily. I've never used one which makes me a bit nervous but it doesn't seem like rocket science.


I do have a heat gun and some good fishing line, thanks for the other items I'll scoop those up. Now to see if this spoiler ever actually gets here from China ffs.

I've only done 3 spoilers but I've never had an issue with the eraser wheel hurting the paint or clear. Maybe if you're reckless with it like holding it in the same spot for way too long or using it on too high of a speed. Just keep it moving and using low speed.

I have a 2025 Z4 with the upgraded sound system. Songs on Sirius radio with a lot of base overwhelm the speakers. I reduced the base settings. I also have a 2025 230i with the base sound system and have been happy with that

This is what i used and cant see it coming off any time soon, its rock solid
