Anyone running an oil catch can on their m240i?
Curious if anyone is running a catch can on their b58. If so, have you seen any oil caught in it? Newer to the b58 platform and wondering if it's necessary. I like to do maintenance/ reliability mods before I start doing performance upgrades. Is a catch can worth it?

It does! Same boat, I'm through break in period finally.
I just know on the older n54s it was common to run them because you got blow by through the pcv into the intake side. N55 was less so, but I still ran one on the my n55 car after finding oil in the charge pipe and intercooler inlet. |

I have had a catch can installed on my G42 for a year now and most of the time, especially during the cold months, you end up with mostly water in the can.
From time to time you end up with what you see in the attached photos. Bits of dark solid material and very thick oily residue. I am not a mechanic or have much experience with engines but I thought I would include my findings for anyone who is interested. |
