Anyone else spring for the 10 bucks to enable BimmerLink to show up in CarPlay?
I was hoping it would show a dashboard like the app does. Maybe they will add this later…I don’t see why they wouldn’t. Or even a button to open up the exhaust flap etc. For now though you can just select the data to display in iDrive. It appears in a plain list. Edited to add: I contacted the developers about enhancing CarPlay functionality. They want to do all that but Apple is currently restricting graphical elements that can be used. |

On the initial screen of BimmerLink there’s a gear at the bottom for setup. I think the add-on can be purchased there.
This is what my screen looks like |

I finally got around to testing out the BimmerLink app’s new features in CarPlay.
It’s a basic UI because, as the devs told me, BMW is restrictive of the widgets you can use. But there’s now iDrive control of the exhaust flap and ASD from CarPlay. |
