Anyone else spring for the 10 bucks to enable BimmerLink to show up in CarPlay?

I was hoping it would show a dashboard like the app does. Maybe they will add this later…I don’t see why they wouldn’t. Or even a button to open up the exhaust flap etc.

For now though you can just select the data to display in iDrive. It appears in a plain list.

I contacted the developers about enhancing CarPlay functionality. They want to do all that but Apple is currently restricting graphical elements that can be used.

On the initial screen of BimmerLink there’s a gear at the bottom for setup. I think the add-on can be purchased there.

I finally got around to testing out the BimmerLink app’s new features in CarPlay.
It’s a basic UI because, as the devs told me, BMW is restrictive of the widgets you can use.
But there’s now iDrive control of the exhaust flap and ASD from CarPlay.
