I guess it’ll have to grow on us just how the G8X front grill did when it was released lol

It's a Neue Klasse
The older test mule was a modded i4 (G26)

One of my grandfathers was a farmer. When working in the field he would send the horse pulling a loaded cart and the German shepherd home. They'd get there just fine on their own (the horse could do this part without the dog), after unloading at the farm, they'd go back to the field (this needed the dog as the horse would not do it without the dog).

Had he had a tractor: he'd have to drive it back and forth himself or send one of the farm hands to do it for him. So my grandfather fought tooth and nail against getting a tractor. He saw drawbacks we've long forgotten about.

But self-driving farm equipment is on the agenda now once again as it is indeed really, really handy in some situations as my grandfather pointed out.

TL;DR: Sometimes some of us see something as progress, but others see what they'd lose. Both are right. It's only long after all of us moved on that we'll agree. And sometimes those things we lose in the process will be missed in the long run and come back in somewhat changed form.
I'm sure your grandfather was a really good farmer, but I seriously doubt your grandfather's team of horse out-worked a tractor,...something that never-ever gets tired!

Will be super cool if a full EV M3 is actually released in 2027 or 2028.

Did you all see they named the mule "Nadine" - at 8:18 mark you can see it etched on the dash.

Maybe my next car when my M8 lease is up in 2027.

I really think some people are missing the point...and the entire EV vs ICE argument is a tad ridiculous. The point of a car is transportation. If an EV can accomplish that task cheaper, more efficiently and with greater reliability, then it will and should be adopted by the masses. There is a caveat to this however. Enthusiasts don't care about transportation. They care about things like "feel" and "emotion" and other sensory inputs. You can attempt to convince people all day long that newer tech can mimic or replace older items, but it's damn near impossible to change long standing beliefs and "truths".

I 100% believe that ICE vehicles will never completely disappear in the next 100 years. Will the market share be significantly reduced? Absolutely. Just as travel by horse and carriage has largely disappeared after the advent of the automobile, there still exists a market for enthusiasts. Same with mechanical watches and even typewriters. All technologies that have been replaced by newer, better tech. As long as there are enthusiasts, ICE vehicles and vendors will remain even if it's just a niche industry.

They are making tires for EV’s now…
I’ve been running ZR rated all seasons for years on my commuting appliances without much issue and they perform fantastic

Buying tires is a small price to pay when you don’t have to pay for maintenance you don’t have to buy brakes or ⛽️ gas etc. etc.
My tires lasted 25-30k on my i4 and i5M60
I had 22” on my 750Li and lasted 20k so tires no issue charging only when I travel too so 30mins is nothing when u travel with dogs that are picky and can’t pick a spot to poop. Hahah
