Engine Oil Level

Anyone ever had this message, and how did they solve it? Take to a dealer?

I literally haven稚 checked my oil since my first year (dealer) oil change in October, so I don稚 know how long it has been like this, and if the dealer screwed something up.

Best advice I can offer is to refer you to the car's owners manual.

You can also contact your favorite dealer service department and ask what the message might mean and what action is best.

I just looked at my M2's digital owners manual and it covers the electronic oil measurement to some degree. But it is what your car's owners manual has to offer is what you need to know.

I do know I could not measure the oil level until the engine was up to some suitable temperature. Also the vehicle had to be reasonably level. Transmission (manual) in neutral and perhaps even the parking brake on.

If all of the conditions are met and you still see that message that suggests the oil level measurement system is experiencing a problem. Which is at least a call to the service department.
