I went back and forth on the same question. Ultimately, went with the CF roof. For me it depended on the color. Like someone else said, it's barley noticeable on black. I went with Zandavoort so loved the contrast of the carbon. Plus, any car I've had in the past with a moonroof, I basically never used. This car is a big purchase for me (maybe not some others) so that means I'm willing to wait for exactly what I want.

It only had 2,400 miles on the clock and was at $65k. I only went to test drive the car as I have never driven an M2 before.

After the test drive, I knew I loved the M2 and the wheels in my head started turning. To get the car now even missing some options (which I never had in any other car before) at a reduced price or continue waiting. It was tough but I passed on the car. I figured I put a deposit down in Feb 2024, got my allocation in November, and am only 3 months from my build. Am I really going to cancel after getting so close?

Also my car is a TP with some M Performance part which I could finance with the car where as the Toronto Red car I would have to pay out of pocket. I couldn’t do it. If you have been waiting, I say, stay the course…it will be worth it.
You made the right decision, and the wait gets shorter each passing day. Heart wants what it wants.

Another thing to keep in mind when you go to sell the car - many potential buyers will not purchase a car with a moon roof for several reasons

I enjoy the sunroof and generally am quite happy with it. I'm not tracking the car so I don't miss the potential performance benefits of the carbon fiber roof.

The sunroof comes in handy when my inbred cousin with a growth hormone tumor comes to visit.
