Question Catless DP options?

So a catless DP will throw a CEL, right?

Has anyone tried a spacer so the O2 sensor can still "sniff" some of the exhaust? Is the BMW system too hard to fool?

Has anyone made a high flow DP that retains the catalytic converter?

I'm new to German cars, be gentle.

No. but please let the forum know the result when you have tried.

Online you can buy a CEL-FIX for 20$.

BMS(UK) and german Wagner makes hi flow cats which shouldn't through a cel.

Among others Magnum tuning, some russian company and SuperSprint has it.
I just pass the info I know off.
But if you try, what other than a faster spool would it bring if you don't have the proper tune....?

To get the most out of catless DP you need the car tuned.
If the car is tuned it will take care of the engine light.
So i recommend just getting a JB4+Catless DP (Evolution Racewerks are the most popular) and you are good

If you get a CEL for a different reason will it be "masked" by the JB4 or will the CEL still be illuminated?

Still illuminated. Otherwise the tune would be worthless..

Price Wagner: 825 $ versus AC Schitzer's 1270 $.........
Any comment?

Sure. Firstly, do Wagner offer a complete tuning programme like AC Schnitzer? Engine tuning, wheels, suspension, exhaust, everything? And secondly, do they offer a 2 year warranty that includes related components as AC Schnitzer do? Our tuning programme gives a complete warranted solution, not just individual parts.

1. OP's question was:
Has anyone made a high flow DP that retains the catalytic converter?

I gave the guy an oppurtunity to save 50% on the same tuning item.

2. Who needs warranty at that price? ACS parts are not what they were years back. Just my opinion.
But nice AC Schnitzer promotion

Hey guys, so I want to get some downpipes and get the jb4 also. When I take my car to service, I would to uninstall the jb4. Since i will take the jb4 out, won't the downpipes throw a CEL code? would you guys suggest i get install both the downpipe fix and the jb4 or what? thanks in advance!

If you don't they'll know you have the tune anyway. They are not stupid.
I wouldn't take any of it off. Not for a service call. Emission test, yes as it's kind of mandatory to pass...

lets say I had to take the jb4 off for service, do you think its a good idea to install the downpipe fix as well so for service the CEL light wont be on?

If the cell fix is installed they might not go looking for the JB splicing IF they believe this downpipe is all you got.
Are the JB connected via visible splicing they'll know even if it's not mounted..
Still I would play fair and leave the JB on.

That's a good decision. I had one before I traded in for an f82. Everyone is charging crazy BMW tax, but Shifteck is selling a high quality part for like 1/2 the price.

Thanks for the confirmation. I can't wait to see how it affects exhaust note.

Nice upgrade for you.
