The dreaded E90 HID retrofit. Help please
have installed the HIDS4U Ulimate kit into my E90 320d.
The fitting was straightforward but unfortunately, contrary to expectation, after a few seconds the bulb warning light comes on followed by a couple of seconds later, the red service warning light. HIDS4U have supposedly fixed this issue with resistors etc so I am wondering if it is likely to be anything I have done incorrectly. My only doubt during the installation was connecting the spades on the kit into the OEM bulb terminal block. The block has one female slot with two black wires leading from it and the other slot has one black wire leading from it. I was expecting a red and a black wire only leading from the OEM block to match with the red and black wires with spades from the kit. I have connected the spade with black wire from the kit into the OEM block with the 2 black wires leading from it and connected the spade with the red wire into the OEM block with the single black wire leading from it. The lights work fine apart from the alarms , so I dont know if the OEM wire up is a contributory factor or not. I dont want to swap the spades over just in case I do some damage. Any thoughts on how i can go about getting rid of the bulb warning light and/or reassuring me that I have connected things up correctly would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance |

Carlos, nigpd does mean HID (High Intensity Discharge), otherwise known as Xenon.
I'm afraid that you are probably the 1st UK member to try this nigpd, as others without Xenons have looked at the OEM solution, seen the costs and given up. Get back onto the company who sold the kit. Either their instructions are not good enough, or the system is not good enough to fool the car electronics.

Depends....
E92/93 yes, but on the E90/91 they are an option.

Ian and Chris were very helpful with answers before I bought the kit and I'm sure they will help on Monday. I'm just an impatient sod and was hoping someone would have an answer over the weekend
