Probably going to catch shit for saying this, but I wonder how many people choose ZB because it was an available car, and not because it was their preferred choice.

My preferred choice, individual colors, isn't going to be available, and I am not in love with any of the available choices. I'll never own a white or black car, my daily is grey so didn't want another one, so that left TR and ZB. I saw TR in person on an X5 and it was too orange for me, so that left ZB. Which, after seeing it in person, I am very happy with, but I wouldn't choose it if a better selection or individual colors were available. I like blue M cars, my F87 was LBB and my Z4MC is Interlagos Blue.

I was on the deposit list of a local Bimmer dealer for a couple of months for a G87 or an M3 manual when the next allocation became available. Several cars ordered by customers who placed orders and deposits last year came in. Two of those picked them up......one would not return calls to the dealership. My salesman got the high sign from the manager to sell it and he called me. So, two weeks ago I took delivery of a Zandvoort Blue, 6spd manual completely loaded G87 at MSRP. No ADM. Fortunately, my wife gave the color a thumbs up. The car was already set up at the factory (or the Port-not sure) with a ton of BMW's M Performance options everything except the carbon bucket seats but with the "expensive" M Performance Exhaust and diffuser option I had to swallow if I wanted the car. I was glad about the seats since at 6/3-230 I do not fit well in those skinny carbon buckets and the standard seat felt a lot better for everyday commutes. Anyway, there was a lot of add-on CF trim already on the car that I would not necessarily have checked off and did not specify on the original order I placed. Still, this car was here, unmolested, available, and checked all the boxes that I would have checked and a bunch I wouldn't have. I bought it, "happily". I had also been on an allocation list for manual 911S for many months and finally gave up the wait. Although this particular M2 was not a cheap setup...I actually saved a bunch compared to any new manual 911S. That said, I have really been impressed with the M2 so far. It's a pleasure to be back in a car that's total enjoyment to get in and drive.

Canada seems to have gone TR.

US was mostly ZB and some BG (2 ZB and 1 BG HEA in my area). Canada appears to have been predominantly TR with some BG and very few ZB.

This perfectly describes my feelings towards the current color palette. Sorry, but it stinks!

Similar for me. I would have gone Individual if allowed (Fire Orange). I was all set for TR after hearing some folks on this forum until I saw both TR and ZB in person on the my local HEAs.

I saw TR first and had a weird first impression. You can definitely see the orange in the red and I detected a subtle hint of hot pink mixed in as well. It turned me off a bit but was still going for it until I saw ZB in person the next day at a different dealer. While ZB would not have been my first choice (see first para), it didn't have the same negative first feel for me as TR.

I then changed my order to ZB and bonus that it is the launch exclusive color for this car. It should be here end Aug or so.

Yep it does. I should have listed color choice as one of my gripes, but as an owner of a ZB car, I am not unhappy with it. I love my car, and I turn my head every time I walk away, so even though I would not have picked it if other colors were available, that's not to be taken as if I do not like it. I do.

That was the other thing for me given the choices at hand. Decided having a 50th anniversary launch car in the launch color was the best idea (for me) given the choices. That may be meaningless in the big scheme of things, but who knows, maybe having that combo will be valuable down the line. Time will tell.

Not to offend anyone, but out of the current colors I feel TR is best suited for the G87. A close second would be BSM. Note, I have seen all five colors and in various lighting conditions.

Edit, TR on other models larger than the M2 is simply too much. The worst is on a X vehicle.

I hope no one takes offense to personal choices about color. We should be offended that this is all BMW gave us.
