Proper tire pressure for PS4S
Guys,
Anyone know what the proper tire pressure is? I was in the settings on my 2024 and noticed the tire type wasn’t setup so I picked summer tires. Now my check tire pressure warning is coming up even though I have around 32-33 psi cold and 35 psi after driving for a few minutes. I believe the car was telling me the back should be something like 46 but that seems really high. I’m pretty sure it recommended 36 in the front as well. |

Unless tracking a car, drag racing a car, or hauling a ton of bricks, I've always been told to go with the door placard. So that's what I do, and I've never gotten a warning.
Both the placard and owners manual say 32 psi. I'm running PZeros, but I doubt that would make any difference? |

Depends on load. As squid stated, if you are mostly driving alone, aren't carrying a shit ton of bricks, don't actively exceed 100MPH+ 32 is what you should go with.

For my G42 (which I have only had for a few months) the "My BMW" app shows 36 psi all around currently, but the placard says 38 psi.
I have the staggered setup with the PS4S tires. The app was recommending 39 psi but I changed it to manual/summer (from auto) in the infotainment and now the app isn't recommending a tire pressure. What are you guys seeing in the app? Last edited by nype; 10-13-2023 at 07:24 PM.. |

My app has never recommended a tire pressure AFAIK (and it isn't doing so right now). It just shows the tire pressure.
I don't know what causes the app to behave differently. |

Interesting… I think it was because the tire type was set to “auto” in the infotainment. Set it to “manual / summer” now and not seeing a pressure recommendation in the app anymore.
Also noting I’ve got a G42 and I think this is primarily a G87 thread. |
