Few Newbie e90 questions

ok so picked up the 320d (2006) yesterday, few questions that ive done a on but got confused by different opinions.

1. the passenger airbag dosnt have the option of being turned off by a key (not sure why this is an optional extra, my focus had it as standard) so i presume that i have the sensor on the seat that detects a baby seat? but the light to indicate the airbag is deactivated dosnt light up? i presume this is above the rearview mirror reading other posts but i dont know as its not lighting up?
should i go to bmw with this problem?

2. replacing the yellow interior bulbs? the door handles light up a white/blue/xenon colour so this makes the interior look even more yellow. what bulbs shall i get normal ones or led's (not sure if led's will work etc.)

any help appreciated lads.

i would just pop into a bmw dealer with the baby seat question, sounds like its something they could sort out quite quickly. My two have always gone into baby seats in the back.

ive not changed the interior bulbs so far even though i did in my last car (a megane R26) and that was easy but no idea about that in bmws, let us know how you get on with it

just rang Bmw dealer and they said they are not sure if the sensor will detec the weight of a baby seat and turn off the airbag. seemed more interested in trying to get me to retro fit the isofix option.

Re air bag, are you sure you don't have a key slot in the passenger end of the dash?

You can't deactivate the passenger airbag yourself if you don't have the option.

Re. interior bulbs - A comfortable, warm (i.e. yellow) glow looks much more welcoming and classy than some harsh white light that makes your car look like a corporation bus. Somebody replaced their bulbs with white LEDs and I thought it looked shit.

PS - "zenon" is spelled xenon.....

Agree with Zenon, I think the yellowish light OEM bulbs give work better with the BMW orange ambiance lights

It's an option and not all cars have it.

Unless you absolutely have to, I wouldn't look to put a rear facing child seat in the front passenger seat for safety reasons. The rear bench seat will accommodate most (if not all) models of car seat and its the safer option

A Dealer will have the ability to deactivate the airbag via BMW Software, however, for reasons of liability and legality, elect not to do so.
