Help with No Holes License Plate Bracket Install
Does anyone know if you can install the Autozone's "Bell / Adjustable license plate mounting bracket" without removing the bumper?
Here is the link to the original thread on the main forum by khaye1 back in April. You can see how he attached it to the grill in the bumper. I used the search function and can't seem to find anything on how to remove the lower grill in the bumper? Is this possible or do I need to remove the whole bumper? |

Sorry I have no useful information right now, but I have been looking for something exactly like that. I will definitely let you know if I figure out how to do it though!

oh - I don't know if you have seen this post:
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=378549 but he was able to attach the same bracket to his car without using the bumper or grille. Of course, he did have to drill holes into the bottom of the bumper. |

No. You can pop the bottom grill off but you can't take it out since it will be stuck behind the bumper. It may break if you bend/twist too much to try and get it out. The problem is because you're using washer/with bolt to secure the bracket. If you don't want to take the bumper off, you'll have to find another way of securing that bracket (maybe with wires, etc.) but the washer way is pretty optimal. GL

OK, thanks. I tried toggle bolts last night but they didn't quite work as they should have. I'm going to find a different size and not use nylon nuts and see if this route works as it would be easiest.

I was able to install the mounting bracket without removing the front bumper. I used one screw and two zip ties to hold it in place. Looks great!
