70 Again !
So 4 months ago I had both thermostats replaced because it ran cold at 70 degrees.... it then ran at 90 for 3 months when it suddenly ran at 70.
Main thermo replaced and running back at 90. One month later running at 70 again !!!... WTF !... bad luck or something more sinister afoot ? |

I've just ordered a new EGR thermo. Less likely the main one has gone as that was replaced with an original part. Considering the work i've had done recently around the EGR it's most likely that..... and the easiest to fit

I did it myself
Egr thermo is simple And the main stat is also quite simple. You just need basic tools to do it At a garage id imagine £100 labour to change both |

Main thermo had a blown seal... kindly found and replaced by Bromspec. So that's both stats replaced TWICE within 5 months. Bad luck I hope, that ends here !

mine sits at 70 ish when driving gentle round town etc,on a good run gets to around 80 and driven very hard 90-100,changed the egr stat and made no difference,i cant be bothered messing with the main, the amount of 330/335 d's that have this issue is unreal,i dont have a dpf so it dont bother me as i dont need the temps for regens

The annoying thing is the last time the main stat was replaced they did use genuine OEM parts. Just sods law I suppose.
Now the car gets up to 90 quickly, and I can notice that it runs smoother when there... akin to the difference when running an old car with the choke in or out !. |
