I need to ship a set of used brake calipers. I'm concerned about plugging the hole on the back where the brake hose connects, both to prevent residual brake fluid from leaking and to prevent any dirt from entering. I've seen some sort of tapered silicone plugs used but I have not been able to find them sold anywhere.

The calipers for the BMW F30 use a brake hose connector that is a metric M10-1.0. The threaded hole in the caliper bottoms out at about 10mm. I searched many fastener suppliers before I finally found something that would fit and plug the hole properly.

McMaster-Carr sells a 10mm set screw that fits perfectly. It screws in using a 5mm Allen wrench. A pack of five costs $6.83. The part number is 99642A154. Please see the attached photo. Hope this helps!
