Nurburgring Trip

Went down to the Ring last Thursday, got back late last night. I actually went down on my bike (GSXR 1000 K8) with about 20 mates. We got bloody soaked going down and bloody soaked coming back - but the saturday at the Ring itself was nothing short of PERFECT!!! Its my 3rd time down at the Ring - every time on a bike - but i have to say, as brilliant and scary as it was, i did wish i had my car there. There were so many E92 M3's and quite a few 335's - and they were all going really well. An E92 M3 tried to give me a hard time on the Ring but i just messed around with him for a few corners and then left him for dust - but it was fun watching him get the M3 sideways a few times in my mirrors!! There were 2 really bad crashes whilst we there, one car and one biker - biker was in a very bad way and may have been dead - the air ambulance took them both away. It really does bring it home to you just how dangerous the Ring is if you get it wrong - especially on a bike. Anyway, i really badly want to come on the Ring trip in Sept in the 335i if i can get on the Eurotunnel and find a hotel room. Pic below shows a nice 335 in the Ring carpark - not sure whether it was an i or a d - but it seemed to go very well!! Have to say though that for me my favourite looking and sounding car at the Ring was a gorgeous white E46 M3 CSL - im really thinking of selling my 335i and buying another one!!

2008 E92 M3  [0.00]
Hi Bay, glad you had a great time! Saw my mates on Sunday who I'm travelling with on the September trip and its made me really excited now!! Really can't wait to go!

Good to hear the E92 M3's were having some fun lol!

There's at least 12 cars coming now including E92Fan with his 335i so there's a nice group of us going. I've asked Viv to sticky my thread again to see if anyone else is interested in joining us.

Would be great if you can come 6th-8th Sept in the 335i - see what you can do on the hotel front. I'm staying here: http://www.giffelsgoldeneranker.de/

Plenty of room on the eurotunnel and don't need to book until last minute.

Hope you can come!

Eurotunnel is getting booked up fast - lots of people going to the 'Ring. Also, hotels in Adenau are almost all full now. Best bet is to try the Mercure Hotel in Koblenz (which is a 25 minute drive away) - nice hotel, roughly 85 euros per night (my brother and I are already booked in there).

Steve, glad you enjoyed the 'Ring. Was that white CSL you saw on UK plates? Might be familiar to me

CSL was German - looked stunning in white. Did any genuine white CSL's get over to UK - i thought you could only get them in white in Germany etc?

I don't think any white CSLs officially made it to the UK. The UK registered car which lives at the 'Ring is black originally, but has a white vinyl wrap applied. Not that you would be able to tell, even under close inspection. Lovely car

Yes so did i - but someone once told me that they made a limited number in white for the German market only??? That could be a load of crap of course, i genuinely dont know. I always wanted an M3 in white but they were/are like rocking horse shite! I keep hearing great things about this new (ish) wrapping thing - and its cheap relatively in comparison to a re-spray and you take it off when you sell it. If i do buy another CSL i may consider a white wrap.

First time I'm hearing of this wrap thing. A white csl would be awesome. Anybody got any pics of the one from the ring?

How was ur previous CSL? I'm considering dropping my white e92 M3 for a mint grey CSL. Yes people think I'm mad
