How to get a warranty Progman Update?

I've done a bit of searching and so far this is what i know

a) there is no easy way to check what version of progman you have
b) bmw will update the progman under warranty if there is an issue.
c) bmw may update progman at service
d) There are Technical Service Bulletins (thank you to the kind sir who pointed me in that direction - he know's who he is) available on the web which give a list of possible reasons for getting the upgrade

b - i have no issues that i'm aware
c - for me is over a year away.
d - i've still to delve into this fully, but the latest information seems to be Jul 07 and since then the TSB have become a paid for resource.

So what i'd like to know is

1) What progman i'm likely to have as an Sep 2007 registered E91 335D?
2) Has anybody with an E91 with Idrive and Prof Sat Nav had their progman updated within warranty and for what reason?

Thanks in advance.

To get it updated, tell them your sat nav keeps rebooting and freezes. That worked for me.They needed the car for a full day, but I was given a courtesy car

Just had mine updated to V30.02 last week.

I complained of turbo lag on hard acceleration and also the known issue with the steering column lock.

So far, so good, but to be fair, I have not really noticed any difference from my previous V25.

For a Sep 07 car, I would guess that you would have at least V25.XX. V25 was the big update were the iDrive screen colour layout changed from a brown colour to more of a silver colour. The Nav map colour scheme was also greatly improved.

I've posted a few times about TSBs & the circumstances under which a dealer will carry out a Progman update. Have a look here.

There needs to be a very specific reason for a Progman update to be carried out under warranty, as dealers will only be paid by BMW UK if specific conditions are met.

Progman v27 was released in September 07 & that is the version most likely to be in your car, misterS3.
