We detected that you are scanning a QR code from a different brand in the My BMW app.

When I try to add the 2023 760i xDrive Sedan (loaner) to the myBMW app, I get the message:

"We detected that you are scanning a QR code from a different brand in the My BMW app. Please use the app for your vehicle brand."

Any idea how to fix this?

PS: mygarage.bmwusa.com says: "BMW ConnectedDrive is not available for this vehicle."

Obviously they do not want loaners in the app.

It‘s like rental cars, you can’t add them to the app too.

The reason is quite simple, when you return the car, you could still control the car through the app… if you don’t remove it…

must be something new for iDrive 8. 0 and/or fleet owner. When my company VW Tiguan was in the shop for repairs, I was given an X2 loaner through Enterprise car rental for several days. I was able to add it to mybmw, albeit on an iDrive 6 or 7 system

Hmm... Ok.
I rented last year a 7 Series (idrive7) in Los Angeles at Sixt and was not able to add it...

Perhaps it depends the rental company...

Rented a G05 In Hawaii with Sixt and added it to my account. I also performed an RSU at the resort.
